LipLase is a unique setting available on the Fotona SP Dynamis Pro laser that can utilize dual laser wavelengths for highly customizable and dramatic results when desired. With the SMOOTH modality of the Er:YAG laser wavelength, the lips immediately respond to the energy delivered beneath the surface of skin, tightening up the tissue instantly while shrinking collagen fibers so more can be produced in their place over time.
In addition, with the gentle PIANO mode of the Nd:YAG laser, even deeper thermal stimulation is possible, without harming the delicate surface layer of the skin tissue.
Neither modality of LipLase affects the surface of skin; both are non-ablative laser skin treatments. Instead, they stimulate the tissues immediately beneath the skin to increase collagen production, resulting in more resilient, soft, and voluminous lips over time.
The LipLase Procedure
This simple procedure only takes about 15-30 minutes depending on the techniques required and/or other treatments requested. This is a very well tolerated procedure, although given the sensitive nature of the lips, a topical anesthetic may be able to be provided if a patient is worried about discomfort.
Post-Procedure Steps
There’s no downtime following a LipLase treatment, although we may ask you to avoid excess sun exposure to avoid any potential side effects. Your medical provider will give you any other post-treatment protocols to follow to get the most out of your results.
Although some results are visible immediately, others will take time as your body rebuilds and redistributes the collagen in the treated area. Some patients see results improving for up to six months before they settle into a long-term enhanced appearance.
