What is NormaTec?

NormaTec is a dynamic air compression system which is an alternative to treatments like massage or hydrotherapy. NormaTec aids in rapid recovery and is a good option for athletes or patients who are exercising to lose weight. The system utilizes fitted sleeves or pant style attachments and delivers pulses of air compression to relax and restore the muscles.

The NormaTec Procedure 

During NormaTec treatment, you will simple place your arms or legs into the sleeve or pant style attachment. Your NormaTec specialist will then select the duration and intensity. Next, the pre-inflate cycle will begin, which molds the attachments to the shape of your body. With this cycle complete, the massage compression will begin. NormaTec inflates to cause compression on the lower parts of the limbs first, gradually working its way up the limb. The compression pattern feels similar to a traditional massage. NormaTec was designed with pulsing compression in mind, which more effectively mimics natural muscle movement and moves fluid through the limbs in such a way to restore the muscles. Patients find that the NormaTec procedure is very relaxing and soothing. The average NormaTec session is about 20-30 minutes long.
