The sun is always out in the sunshine state and sun protection (SPF) is your best friend here in Palm Beach Gardens.  Sun protection is important 365 days of the year to prevent skin cancer and also prevent premature aging of the skin.  Revision is one of the lines I like-price point is excellent and so is the quality! Photoaging is the main cause of wrinkles, fine lines, and pigmentation.  There are many different types of sunscreens available and I know the options can be overwhelming.  To keep it simple, there are two types of sunscreens-chemical and physical.

Chemical sunscreen is absorbed into the skin where it transforms UV rays that penetrate our skin into heat.  Examples of chemical sunscreens include avobenzone, octinoxate, and oxybenzone.  Chemical sunscreens spread easily and are lightweight, but I find they can cause irritation to sensitive skin.  Physical sunscreens form a protective layer on top of the skin and reflect UV rays.  Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main ingredients in mineral sunscreens.  Physical sunscreens can be less irritating; however, they are often heavier and thicker. Physical and chemical sunscreens can also be found as combined products.  In addition to using sun block, I would avoid the strongest sun (10am-2pm) and wear hats, sunglasses, UPF shirts and pants (I also like to wear gloves).  Also keep in mind that anti-aging products such as retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.  Just another reason to cover up and protect your skin.

If you have any questions I am always here!
